We are seeking a passionate Speech Pathologist to join our Community Health and Therapy Services (CHATS) team at Mackay Base Hospital, Queensland. CHATS plays a vital role in providing a continuum of care, focusing on assessing, re-enabling, and maintaining consumers' capacity from acute discharge through community re-establishment.

Pay Rates: hourly rate dependent on experience
Location: Mackay, QLD
Contract Dates: 03 November 2025 - 29 March 2026
Working Days: Monday - Friday
Working Hours: Working hours can be discussed prior to contract request

What you'll need:
- Experience in community health, home visits, aged care services, and rehabilitation.
- Must demonstrate the ability to apply advanced clinical skills across a range of complex conditions.
- Experience in neurological caseloads
- Knowledge of ieMR and proficiency in using this system
- Previous experience working in Australia, QLD Health, and/or Mackay HHS or public hospital system
- Aged care national police certificate
Mandatory Competencies:
- Basic life support
- Manual and patient handling
- Infection control including hand hygiene
- Occupational Violence Prevention Training incorporating de-escalation skills, situational awareness, and maintaining personal safety
- Mandatory reporting of reasonable suspicions of child abuse and neglect
- Responsibilities in relation to Aged Care Act and elder abuse
Additionally, the candidate must agree to undertake any of the following as required by our HHS:
- Integrated electronic medical record training
- Online induction training
