We are seeking experienced Head Chefs / Chefs to join our client in Mackay, QLD. These are hands-on roles in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.
Chef / Head Chef Responsibilities:
- Prepare food to the highest standard, maintaining quality and consistency.
- Manage stock, follow recipes, and assist in cost control to meet budget targets.
- Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and organization throughout the kitchen.
- Work independently and collaboratively with kitchen staff.
- Oversee kitchen operations, develop innovative menus, manage suppliers, and kitchen budget (Head Chef only).
- Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to maintain high performance and consistency (Head Chef only).
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety standards (Head Chef only).
- Minimum 1 year post-qualification full-time experience in prep and a la carte (lunch & dinner).
- Relevant industry-recognized trade qualifications.
- Experience in fast-paced, service and quality-focused venues.
- Passion for food and a guest-focused approach.
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene practices.
- Ability to work well under pressure with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to work split shifts if required.
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
